People always talk about Roscoe’s and all I’m saying is the only thing that matters over there is the food. They do have some interesting patrons too depending on the location. Here’s the exterior, the food, and my two favorite patrons that day. Two black lady bikers wearing purple camo.
Oh yeah the food was amazing. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and servings were huge. Fries sucked. They remind me of Portuguese BBQ fries from Newark.

So I’m in Italiano’s which is the best Pizzeria in Los Angeles because you can get loaded slices for under two dollars a piece, (which in my opinion is what they’re supposed to cost–when I’m waiting on an order of cheese breadsticks $4.50 for 6–) and there’s this wonderful smell coming from the stove.
I asked what it was. I was nicely handed what you saw in the photo, with a glass of water FOR FREE.
It was amazing.
It isn’t on the menu.
They offered me more.
I ate that shit. It was really good. Emphasis on the really good.
They asked me where I was from. I mentioned New Jersey. I also mentioned the Ironbound which is known for their seafood. They asked if there were Mexicans in New Jersey. I also told them there were no Mexicans in New Jersey.
What a lie.
I’m sure they knew I was lying.
They now have my business, for life, though. Even though they already did by making great food.
And I’m writing this post after being there about an hour ago.
So at some point people began to realize that White Castle was onto something with their small burgers, but I always felt like if they did a better job, it would be a major improvement. “Sliders” are popping up everywhere. You can order them in ultra-fancy restaurants in versions of crabcake, or salmon. Now fast food chains are getting into the act. I’m pretty wary of these things because i’m sure they’re skimpy in the beef department, but Jack in the Box has really done it right with their sirloin sliders.
I tried them yesterday, when I saw an employee putting up the poster in the window, but apparently they’re not new. Regardless they’re really good.
I was the first person to order and try them at this particular JIB location. They’re easy to chew and tasty, but not cheap portion-wise. They come with onions but I didn’t want those. A small combo costs 5.99 plus tax. After my second slider and most of the fries I was satisfied. If you get the chance, try it.
Here’s the commercial, which didn’t lure me in because I didn’t see it until now. There’s a weird marketing coincidence. The little person cast in this commercial also stars in Burger King’s commercial about a very similar product– their mini “Breakfast Shots.”
At least he’s getting a check.
