A Few of My Favorite Things

Jazmin January 14th, 2009 by Jazmin

After spending countless jobless hours wandering the mean street that is “the boulevard,” Hollywood Boulevard, I discovered my new favorite store. I had to use google to find the name because if it isn’t some generic chain store like Forever 21 or Urban Outfitters, don’t count on me to remember the name.

Anyway the name of the place is The Supply Sergeant, plug plug plug. I was a moth to the flame, and the flame was a window display full of assortments of gnarly guns, bullets, mannequins in full on army fatigues, paintings of shark bombs

and the REAL reason why I ended up walking my behind in that place was because of a sign that said “pepper spray sold here”. In the back of my head I was hoping they would demonstrate the lethal power of the spray, but put all that aside when I walked in.

It was like surplus heaven. When I was in high school my sister took me and my brother to some sketchy surplus store, complete with anarchy “cook books” and the materials to make pipe bombs. This of course was different mainly because it was not located in a seedy alley. I strolled down the aisles filled with camo everything. My personal fav. were the camo panties.

Because who doesn’t want to go to booty camp?

This was also kinda cool and very useful for fighting off insurgents in the snow.

Another highlight of this store was all the hats!

The aviator hats were kinda my fav. even though I looked like a dweeb in them and yes I did try them all on. FYI everyone should get one of those captain hats, they give you a rush of empowerment. I felt like an evil dictator in the few that I tried on although they were kinda heavy, I felt like an infant who is still learning to hold its own head up.

So after about an hour of wandering around aimlessly and blissfully through the many aisles of camo shirts, sweaters, thermals, pants, shorts, hats, undies, boots…you see where I’m going here….The guys who worked there were pretty cool, they looked confused though like “why is this girl so happy to be in here?” This was probably amplified by the fact that I was wearing a sundress and heels. I was so wrapped up in it all that I after browsing I walked right out of the store. I felt so dumb when I got back to my place, I didn’t ask about the pepper spray or get to handle any weaponry not a gun, not a hunting/gutting knife not even a small blade.. Needless to say, “I will be back Supply Sergeant!”
