Photog Fridays

Elliott the Giant January 2nd, 2009 by Elliott the Giant

This was near an abandoned house in Maine. I thought it was interesting how the artwork was in its element even when the former owner probably discarded it without a second thought. Also fall is my favorite season and shit, so I love it.

This was right on my school grounds. At the time I was taking a photography course, and I wanted to push myself to see how patient a photographer I was. Needless to say, I waited a long time to get this shot, trying to get as much detail as I could, pushing the camera.

This shot always reminds me of my father(he is a pianist) but I just kept that in mind when I did this shot.

I’ve never really been able to fuck with shallow Depth of Field shots, But this is a product of my experiment. Getting the center Crystal clear, and sharply blurring (oxymoron) the edges of the frame.

With fresh snow on the ground, it was time to experiment with it. I wanted to create an eerie, yet magical, look to this piece. I rarely got to fuck around with snow because it left just as quickly as it came. Perhaps next year…
