How to Get Me
I always find myself dreaming of Summer in the Winter. In the last two months, I went fishing for interviews I had done this Summer, and as I found those I found photos of us all having fun during the Summer. So plan your Summer right now. It’ll help you get through Winter.

Cassavitis’ band, One Short Fall, is crazy live. They rocked the Knitting Factory in New York, last week, and nobody outside of friends and family knew who they were. Cassavitis is one short fall away from being a very successful drummer.

In November Jon Lodge got the first series of decks he designed for his own company Certified Skateboards.

Beautiful aren’t they? Go get yours at Blades, Supreme and Division East.

Also this Fall my brother Patrick wrote and starred in an episode of “Undergrads,” a sitcom about college life at the University of Maryland.

Shoutout to these dudes in the illtema My 9 spoof tees. Theyre the ones who actually print our tees. They make our T-shirt world go round.

Elliott the Giant is our photography intern. He photographed Duke Da God. Dope Aston Villa colorway.

Jon and Chris killed the Branch Brook Park Demo this past Summer and because of that Councilwoman Dana Rone is pushing hard to build a skatepark in Newark. No news on when groundbreaking will actually start. In the part of town they’ll choose to build it, you’ll need an uzi to skate in peace, so we’ll see how far that goes. Suggestions for a more downtown-bound location were laughed at.

Cassavitis started putting his artistic skills to use for illtema and produced some snazzy designs for biker gangs. Then he joined a band called One Short Fall, and lost his mind, and has put the whole working with illtema thing on hold. I guess you can do that when we’re tatooed on your arm. Shoutout to One Short Fall, now that Cassavitis is their drummer.

This is the sick logo he designed for them.

Andrew moved into the new University Centre building located on Central Ave and Lock Street. This state of the Art residence center costs a stupendous penny, but it is a step in the right direction for Newark. Will Andrew still be living there when his 1-year lease expires? Most likely not. Why? Because he’s not that afraid of Newark that he’ll continue to fork over a bunch of money to live there when he can live far more comfortably elsewhere for the same amount of money. Plus I swear the hallways make it seem like “The Shining.”

Swiss Army intern Gu, is working on uniting all the skaters in Newark, and making a DVD about that. We’re going to send him to Celebrity Assitant School in LA in the Summer 2008.

This past Summer we had fun with the media coverage (they gave this story so much unnecessary attention) of the Paris Hilton imprisonment via T-shirt. Online I’d see girls saying “Free Paris!” and I thought to myself, “Are you kidding me?” but they were serious. I wasn’t serious in printing, a “Free Paris” tee, but I found it absolutely hysterical.

I told Cassavitis I printed “Free Paris” tees for the ladies and he was like, “Man, fuck Paris Hilton,” and there a popular shirt was born.

Sinclair is rocking the original MY 9 spoof tee, which was going to be feature location-specific prints, but as soon as that gruesome Triple Homicide happened, I decided I wasn’t going to print anymore Newark tees that had any sort of references to violence. Shoutout to bad Santa.

Go Skate Day was the shit. It was completely kamikaze. We showed up and had a great time skating. We had a few incidents with the transit police because trolley conductors feared skaters would fall on the tracks. Thankfully no one was arrested or run over.

Illtema gang was in the building with Joe flipping burgers the whole day. No skaters ate, it was mostly passers by and the homeless. All in all it was a good day.
