Breakfast – Pom Shake

August 1st, 2006 by Reggie

The Pomegranate comes from a region starting in Iran and stretching to the Himalayas of northern India. It is cultivated today in parts of Africa, Southeast Asia and the East Indies. The fruit arrived on North American soil in California in 1769, by way of Spanish settlers.

Fresh Pomegranate juice is a cooling beverage that is a very powerful anti-oxidant. It helps the heart liver and kidneys by strengthening its functions and builds resistance thus protecting the body against infections. It’s an excellent morning kick.

Drink it straight or make a shake.

• 1 cup Pomegranate Juice
• 3/4 cup low-fat milk or soymilk
• 3 ice cubes
• 1 large banana, peeled and broken into chunks
• 2-4 tablespoons protein powder (optional)
• 2 teaspoons of honey

1. Pour the pomegranate juice with the milk, ice cubes, banana, and honey.
2. Cover and blend on high speed for 30 seconds.
3. Pour into 2 tall glasses and share with a lady friend.
